Reindeer Treats For Christmas Eve

A great party activity for kids. Each child assembles a snack of food for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas eve.  Purchase several different edible eats: birdseed, oatmeal, rice, or any cereals from the bulk food section of your favorite store, 3-4 will do fine.  Prepare a "salad bar" style table. Perhaps, make a festive sign...Reindeer Grazing Grub. Assemble each item in a separate bowl or container along with a teaspoon, label each bowl according to content.  Instruct each child to choose a flavor(s) they think Santa's team will enjoy.  Children place 3-4 teaspoons of each in a resealable sack, small decorated paper bag, or our muslin feed sack (image right). Kids can also pre decorate their containers! Keep in mind, each bag should have a maximum of 10-12 teaspoonfuls. When Santa is just about to leave your visit he will wave his magical powers onto their snacks, so they will be able to see the treats. On Christmas eve, just before the kids go to bed, they sprinkle the contents of their container on the front lawn for the reindeer to eat while Santa is busy inside leaving gifts
