The Story Behind Santa Albert’s Magic Throne

The story of Santa Albert’s Magic Throne begins with cedar milled from his family property in Oregon. After the lumber was brought to California, local craftspeople used plans created by professional Santa educator Tim Connaghan to construct, carve, upholster, and hand-paint this extraordinary holiday centerpiece.

Five handmade, working nutcrackers stand guard across the top. Carved details—including Santa’s sleigh, candy canes, and the words “Santa Claus”—decorate the backboard and side posts. Artist Joy Brown created the decorative patterns and color scheme before lovingly hand-painting the throne.
